Why you're still where you use to be

I was inside the university to make some bank transactions this afternoon. Immediately after the transactions,
I decided to walk towards the school clinic which is almost 20 minutes journey from the bank area where several banks are located in the school compound.
I have been having serious pain in my mouth for days though not protrude, so no one can really know I am passing through any pain except I choose to let the cat out of the bag. This pain was got so serious that I resulted to self -medication. I would use salt to wash the wounds daily, whether it works or not, I don't know but the truth is that I wasn't seeing any noticeable changes. I wasn't getting relieved at all.
Any time I used salt to clean the surface of the wound, I would feel more terrible but I was ready to bare the temporary pain if that is what will set me free from my unexpected visitor. At least a saying says "No pain, No gain". lolz
The pain experienced daily is so painful that I started feeling headache in addition to the pain caused by the wounds. Lest I forget, the wound is in two different places and one part is more severe than the other.
After the lengthy journey to the school clinic, I received a serious surprise. I approached the receptionists and try explaining my plight, they cut the conversation short by asking me which faculty I belonged to? I responded, "Faculty of education". They responded almost at the same time that no medication for student of my faculty presently and that the best thing for me to do is to receive a letter from my faculty to the school clinic. I explained further by saying "But we aren't on break in my faculty and presently on mandatory 6 weeks teaching practice exercise. They said they aren't aware and no more drugs in the clinic to cater for students.
Though I was told earlier on that students of my faculty are not being attended to because the university is presently on break. it was until I arrived at the clinic that I confirmed that what I was told was a blatant truth...
I stayed for a while after which I lied down on a bench which was primarily meant for students waiting for medication.
Waiting won't solve my problem, I soliloquies. I decided to approach the consulting room bypassing the protocol. After all, the answer is either Yes or No , it won't result to expulsion or any related punishment. I didn't cheat, steal or fight, these are the major offence student's commit that put an end to their life long dream of becoming a graduate of the university.
I approached the Doctor, I was polite enough to tell him "Sir, please I need your help, I am passing through pains because of wounds in my mouth, but unfortunately I was told that the students of my faculty can't be attended to, please help me, prescribe necessary drugs and I will do the needful of getting them from the pharmacist myself". My look was in perfect combo with my words.
He responded by saying "Who then will pay for my consultation?". I responded by saying "That was the main reason I said I need your help in the first instance". He said "OK, have your sit".
I sat down, he examined the wounds, after examination he prescribed some drugs, I thank him for bestowing on me the gift of attention freely and immediately moved out of his office.
What about if I had refused to ask for his help? I would have remained helpless and nothing would change. Idly waiting for miracle will never solve your problems. Your problem can only be solved by seeking for the solution.
This story isn't about me but about you.
In life, we must learn to "ASK", Asking helps a lot. It has helped many, you can be helped to by Asking. The main reason why you're trapped where you are is because you've refused to ask for help, Ask question, Ask for direction, ask for information, etc.
If you will be successful, you must cultivate the habits of asking.
Listen Up, Asking is not foolishness but wisdom. You get more by asking than keeping quiet waiting for miracle when you can actually make the miracle happen by Asking.
Take it or leave it,In life, you don't get answer to the question you don't ask.
Fact remains that Not asking Is the root of foolishness. The more you ask, the more insight you get. Asking is the simple act that separates the best from the rest.
Live with the mindset that You will get a YES OR NO. The worst you will get is "No" and getting "No" as an answer to your question doesn't take away anything from you. Even the ancient text says "Ask and it shall be given, seek and ye shall found, knock and the door shall be opened unto you.
Never stop asking for what you know you lack. By asking, you have what you lack.
When you lack wisdom, Why not ask?
When you've missed your direction, why not ask?
When you are down, why not Ask for help?
---------------------------
An ancient proverb says "He who ask is a fool for some minutes but he who refuse to ask is a fool forever". How profound is this proverb. It is better you choose to be a fool for some minutes than to forever remain in the league of fools..
Wisdom, knowledge etc is available, your problem is that that you've refused to ask.
It is worth noting that the main reason you are still where you used to be is that you've refused to Ask for help and direction on what to do to move further.
The ball is now in your court, is time for you to start asking.
Will you Ask today?
