This post is majorly for students irrespective of your class and institution.
Some days ago, i think last week my virtual friend Oladipupo Osofowora and myself had few conversations and he said "DON'T LET YOUR SCHOOLING AFFECT YOUR EDUCATION". Yea,he was right because that's the case of majority. I have heard that statement prior to that time and i have decided long ago that my schooling will never affect my education.
I decided when I entered the university few years ago that I am not here only to read school books, please who school don help? I am here to learn life, I am here to be educated and not to be schooled only.
It's good to end up with first class and I am working towards that, thanks to my cousin, Amos Akintayo that reminds me every time but the truth is that I will rather miss having first class than missing life lessons. Ha? Hope I am not saying nonsense oooo..?
Sometimes I skip school lectures to attend life lectures. Sometimes I attend inaugural lectures in the school auditorium while others are in class. All this is because my schooling must not affect my education.
Some sees me as an individual that is not serious because while others are in class,I am busy due to my leadership position .Some who love me advised me to leave school politics and focus more on my academics. Lolz...
Most times I leave school books to read life books on leadership, business, personal development etc.
Am I saying don't be serious with your study? Definitely No. I am only advocating that coupled with your schooling embrace education. Embrace other aspect of life, such as spiritual, emotional, financial etc
In addition to studying school books, pursue God, do something else with your life, learn how to relate with people, learn a skill, make money with your skills, etc
Personally, i believe Majority of schooled people are uneducated. We have enough schooled people, what we need more in this world is educated people.
Certificate is not what will make way for you in life, it's what you know. It's good to be certified but it's better to have deep knowledge about life. Life is beyond university or polytechnic certificates.
Okorode Christian, the millionaire farmer didn't study agriculture in school but he is educated in it, there are several people with similar story.
Are you schooled only or Are you educated ?
The summary of my point is that in addition to your schooling, embrace Education....
HOPE YOU WILL?
